This is a player-builder game: you assemble a player from component traits across ten rounds instead of picking a finished star. The components are drawn from historical NBA inputs through the 2021–22 season, and everything the game concludes is an original assessment or fiction.

It is a game where you assemble a player from component traits drawn from historical NBA inputs through the 2021–22 season, instead of picking a finished star. Build A Hooper is an independent, unofficial fan project — not affiliated with the NBA — and all ratings and season outcomes are original assessments and fictional simulation.
From historical inputs to an original build
Each of the ten rounds offers three candidates. A candidate pairs historical context with a site-created DNA package — an upside, a trade-off, and a fit signal. The historical layer identifies who the inputs describe. The assessment layer is ours. The season layer is fiction.
The boundary of the inputs
The input archive ends with the 2021–22 season. Nothing in the game reflects later seasons, later roster changes, or any player's standing today. Three layers stay separate everywhere: historical facts, original site-created assessments such as DNA bands, fit labels, and archetypes, and fictional simulation output such as season ranges and outcomes.
What a run produces
A fit view that evolves with every pick. Three Big Calls inside a fictional season. A closing report with strengths, weaknesses, and one change to try next time. Bands instead of 0–99 numbers; explanations instead of a single score.

No. Every rating, fit label, and archetype is an original assessment created by Build A Hooper for this game. The historical record supplies identity and context; it does not supply our grades.
