NBA Draft Game Built on Historical Inputs

A ten-round draft game. The boards are built on historical NBA inputs through the 2021–22 season. The calls are yours. The season is fiction.

Independent & unofficial. Build A Hooper is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by the NBA, any NBA team, the NBPA, NBA 2K, Take-Two Interactive, or any player. Historical NBA inputs are used through the 2021–22 season; all ratings, fit labels, archetypes, and season outcomes are original site-created assessments and fictional simulation.

How does this NBA draft game work?

You draft ten rounds from boards built on historical NBA inputs through the 2021–22 season, then make season calls whose outcomes are fictional simulation — never forecasts. Build A Hooper is independent and unofficial, and every rating is an original site-created assessment.

Ten rounds, three candidates each

Every round offers three candidates built from the historical archive. You lock one per round, with two board refreshes for the whole run. Each candidate pairs historical context with a site-created package: an upside, a trade-off, and a fit signal.

Where the history stops

The archive ends with the 2021–22 season, and the game says so on the page, not just in a policy file. Later seasons, later roster moves, and any player's present-day standing are outside the game. What the boards keep is historical context; what the game adds is its own assessment.

Same Board Duel and the ruleset version

A completed run can freeze its board — same seed, same ruleset version — into a link you send a friend. Both of you draft the same candidates and make your own calls. Same board means the same versioned candidate contract, not identical results.

Not forecasts

Season outcomes are fictional simulation. This game does not offer forecasts of real players or games, and nothing on this page is betting or scouting advice.
